You are bound to have heard of them before, but what exactly are mail privacy regulations? And is it relevant for you?

A brief summary: mail privacy is your right to the content of your correspondence remaining confidential, and not being viewed by or passed on to third parties. Even in the Roman Empire there was a form of mail privacy. Later, it gradually found its way into European constitutions. It thus developed into a fundamental and human right that protects the confidentiality of written communications in the form of letters. It remains in place to this day.

But does this also apply to digital communication? And in this context: can ePost guarantee the confidentiality of correspondence? The short answer is: yes. ePost treats your privacy as a top priority and thus ensures the proven principle of postal privacy in the digital world as well. Swiss Post is committed to the trustworthy transmission of sensitive information, regardless of the communication channel.

The short answer is: yes. ePost treats your privacy as a top priority and thus ensures the proven principle of postal privacy in the digital world as well. Swiss Post is committed to the trustworthy transmission of sensitive information, regardless of the communication channel.

ePost stores all data and documents in Switzerland and encrypts them in several stages. This means that private remains private.

Due to these measures, ePost guarantees an immensely high security standard; higher, for example, than the usual e-mail providers or other tech giants. Of course, there may be isolated cases where the scanning service cannot automatically record despatches: They are then opened by people. However, these are subject to mail privacy, which applies to all postal service employees.
